Keynote Speaker and Evening Reception

Jorge Castañeda has had the ultimate “global education.” With degrees from the Sorbonne and Princeton; teaching at Berkley, NYU, and Cambridge; and as a noted multilinguist, Castaneda will be the keynote speaker on the first evening of ConnectEd.

The former Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Mexico, professor, author, and politician, Dr. Castaneda is an internationally-recognized intellectual who continues to represent the world of public diplomacy and Mexican politics. Speaking about global education as an unequal education among countries and regions, Dr. Castañeda will provide perspective on the brain drain, role of governments, and the means to address educational disparities. His talk is open to the public and participants will be joined by students, government officials, community, and others.

Closing Speaker at ConnectEd Talks about Forthcoming Bestseller on Global Elites

Did you know that the top 100 global influentials went to the same 20 universities?

David Rothkopf will be at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland after the ConnectEd conference. He will be unveiling his new book, “The Superclass” (to-be-published in March, 2008) which examines the global elite, their networks, their “thought models,” and their influence on world events and how it affects our education systems. Rothkopf will provide a provocative and meaningful summation to the ConnectEd conference. Make plans to attend and then enjoy a post-conference afternoon in Monterey.

“I simply must attend conferences…”
