The Monterey Conference Center is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Monterey, steps away from Fisherman’s Wharf and within easy reach of the varied attractions of the Monterey Peninsula, famous the world over for its spectacular natural beauty.
A block of rooms has been set aside for conference participants at the MONTEREY MARRIOTT, located in the heart of historic downtown Monterey, and across the street from the Monterey Conference Center. When you make your reservation, please indicate that you are attending the ConnectEd Conference to receive the conference rate.
For those who wish to seek other lodging options, below is a list of other accommodations at various price ranges. The Conference has no specific arrangements with these hotels.
Travel
Monterey, California is located on the Central Coast of California, approximately two hours south of San Francisco. Flights through three airports are recommended:
Monterey Peninsula Airport: This is a small regional airport, serviced by United Airlines, American Airlines, U.S. Airways, Delta Airlines, and Express Jet Airlines. The Monterey Conference Center is a short 10 minute drive from the airport. A taxi from the airport to the Conference Center or the conference hotel, the Marriott, is approximately $20. If staying close to the Conference Center, everything is within walking distance.
Mieta San Jose International Airport: This airport is serviced by all major airlines and is approximately 75 miles from Monterey. Ground transportation from San Jose to Monterey is available via rental car or through the Monterey-Salinas Airbus for $30 each way. The Airbus drop-off/pick-up point is at Ordway Drug Store on Pearl at Alvarado in Monterey, which is approximately two blocks from the Conference Center or conference hotel, the Marriott.
San Francisco International Airport: This airport is serviced by all major airlines and is approximately 100 miles from Monterey. Ground transportation from San Francisco to Monterey is available via rental car or through the Monterey-Salinas Airbus for $40 each way. The Airbus drop-off/pick-up point is at Ordway Drug Store on Pearl at Alvarado in Monterey, which is approximately two blocks from the Conference Center or conference hotel, the Marriott.
Monterey City
Located on Monterey Bay, the largest marine sanctuary in the United States, the City of Monterey is a place of great physical beauty and historic significance. Cannery Row, historic adobes, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Maritime Museum are close by. Short drives will take you to central coast wine country, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach, and Big Sur; or venture out onto the water for whale watching and other aquatic activities.
